The CMS 65 nominee for TEC Award. Vote for your favorite monitor!

The TEC Award is the world's most prominent forum for honoring outstanding Technical Excellence and Creativity in professional audio production and product design. The 25th Annual TEC Awards will be held at the AES Convention, in New York City from October, 9th to 12th. The CMS 65 was chosen by the Audio Engineering Society, Producers & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy and Broadjam.com to participate in the "STUDIO MONITOR TECHNOLOGY" category. IBC 2009

Focal Professional will show the CMS line of monitoring speakers at the IBC 2009 that will take place in Amsterdam from September 11th to 15th. Come and discover the very compact CMS 50 which won the 2009 MIPA award of the Best Studio Monitor. You will also listen to the CMS 65, the other nearfield monitors designed for mid-sized rooms on our booth in the Hall 8 (booth 8.A02).

Focal CMS 65 reviewed by the US magazine Mix

The CMS 65 was reviewed in this month issue of the MIX magazine, here are some excerpts:

CMS 50 rewieved in the German magazine Professional Audio Magazin

Pros:

- very good high frequency reproduction with fine resolution

- very good transient

- compatible with many acoustical environment thanks to efficient settings

- useful accessories such as a Phase-Plug for phase centring and a rubber pad to avoid coupling effect

Cons:

- sounds in the lower mid´s and bass are sometimes too strong

Result:

The compact CMS 50 are perfect for using in restrained or difficult acoustical  environments. Their sound is neutral with a tendency to underline the low freq. and lower mid. freq.. The CMS 50 convinces with their fine resolution, good transient and a very precise high-freq. reproduction.
